GRAPHITE Mind Collection – The character of the surface

In a super-minimal, contemporary setting, where the white volumes seem almost to disappear and the steel kitchen becomes a true architectural element, the parquet takes centre stage.

For this project in Chioggia (VE) – Italy, Graphite from the Mind Collection was chosen and installed in long, continuous planks. Its deep, bold tone creates a sophisticated contrast with the almost invisible lightness of the furnishings and the pure geometry of the space.

What truly defines the character of the surface is the strong sawn effect: an intense treatment that deliberately leaves the wood rough and marked, enhancing its natural irregularities and creating a distinctly tactile feel.

The result stems precisely from the meeting of two seemingly contrasting languages: on one side, the extreme clean lines of contemporary architecture; on the other, an authentic, rough surface with a strong character.

It is this contrast that makes the parquet more than just a finishing element. It becomes a defining presence, adding depth, personality and identity to the entire space.
